Historical Background

Established in 1970, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College, Junnar, stands as a pivotal institution in the advancement of higher education in the western Pune district of Maharashtra. Initially offering Arts and Commerce degree courses, the college is affiliated with Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune). In 1984, the introduction of the Science faculty expanded the academic scope of the college significantly. Subsequently, the institution introduced a range of postgraduate courses in Arts (including Marathi, Political Science, English, Geography, and History), Commerce, and Science (specifically in Organic and Analytical Chemistry, and Zoology). The college also established two research centers on campus dedicated to pursuing Ph.D. degrees in Commerce and Zoology.

Historical Background

Established in 1970, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College, Junnar, stands as a pivotal institution in the
advancement of higher education in the western Pune district of Maharashtra. Initially offering

In 1984, the introduction of the Science faculty expanded the academic scope of the college

Initially housed within the premises of the Junnar Education Society, the college constructed its
own dedicated building in 1977. Since June 1977, it has operated from this new facility,
fostering an environment conducive to academic excellence and growth. Over time, the college
expanded its infrastructure with the construction of two modern buildings dedicated to
administrative and academic purposes, further enhancing its educational offerings.
Throughout its journey, Shri Shiv Chhatrapati College has remained steadfast in its commitment
to providing quality education and nurturing students to excel in their chosen fields. It continues
to play a significant role in shaping the educational landscape of Maharashtra.
